Manifesto

In Finland there are young people who sold their first product before anyone taught them how. Who started a company, built an audience or mastered a craft as teenagers. And young people who make films, music or anything else and are among the best in their field, even though they never went through the usual paths.

All of them hear the same question: why are you doing that?

Almost every community expects you to be in some school or club. For those walking outside the pipeline there is no crowd where you don't have to defend what you do. YNOT is that crowd.

We look for makers who started doing it young, when nobody had told them to, and who are among the best in their own field.

The field can be anything: entrepreneurs, builders, creators, visual makers, craftspeople and event makers. What matters is that you have really made something nobody asked for, and want to make more.

You don't need a school place, a title or a referral. Low threshold, high bar.

We want to make new growth in Finland. The same routes are no longer enough: school, accelerator, the startup path. They work for the people they fit, but many top makers end up outside them.

YNOT doesn't replace the old pipelines. It builds new ones alongside them: from makers who didn't fit the moulds, and from what happens when they meet.

What grows from it is companies, teams, jobs and ideas that wouldn't have come about any other way.

We are building a whole that different programs and events can be built on. We don't promise everything at once. We build what carries: the community, the network and the facilities.

Among us are entrepreneurs who have built and sold companies themselves. They don't teach theory, they tell how it was really done.

We bring a different angle to what others build. The traditional pipeline runs one way. We come from another direction: we have been making and selling long before this, some of us for years.

No applications. No selection. You can always bring a friend. The community and its decisions belong to the young.

Young people carry this society. The next companies, jobs and solutions will come from a crowd that started before anyone gave permission.

We want to build the resources and infrastructure to make even the wildest ideas real: a space of our own, room for events, room to work and the tools to test things. We learn together and create new solutions for society. We give people the means to start making, without the frames.

We start in Helsinki. The goal is a crowd in every big city and a link to similar communities around the world.
